Durable Medical Equipment is available through the DME program to seniors and people with disabilities who are uninsured or underinsured. The goal of the program is to prevent falls and keep seniors living independently in their own home. The Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) program is available to help answer your questions about Medicare. Local SHIBA counselors are available to meet with you one-on-one throughout Linn County. SHIBA also hosts monthly seminars at Linn-Benton Community College locations. The Tax-Aide program is sponsored nationally by AARP and locally by RSVP. IRS-Certified volunteers prepare and e-file Federal and State returns for senior citizens and lower to moderate income families.
